There are various advantages of adopting this method of birth control. It is neither expensive and nor a messy affair. Recovery period in this procedure is very short and thus does not require daily attention of the patient. This is a permanent treatment for birth control which becomes effective as soon as the treatment is done.

Another great advantage of Tubal Ligation procedure is the increased spontaneity in sexual life after the operation. After sterilization there is no decrease in hormone levels or in the menstrual cycle of a woman. The ovaries continue releasing eggs in the same way as before. But now they do not reach the fallopian tubes. Instead they are absorbed within the body again. Thus women can now experience improved sexual experience as they do not have the fear of getting pregnant.

The other popular method for birth control is Essure. In this method metal coins of very small size are inserted in the women's fallopian tubes. Over the time there grows scar tissues around these tiny coils which blocks the fallopian tube completely. This is done so that sperms cannot reach the woman's egg. This method of sterilization is quite different from others in the sense that it does not require any type of incision.

This method has an effective rate off 99.7 percent to 99.8 percent. But with this method you also have to bear some side effects. That is, the woman has to bear a lot of pain when the procedure is done and also there is some amount of vaginal bleeding after this sterilization birth control method is performed. But its advantages may score it over Tubal Ligation procedure. Besides, the absence of any kind of surgery, it is much cheaper than Tubal Ligation as well.
